The food prep task helps students learn what is used to cook various items and what doesn't need to be cooked. I made visuals of various food items as well as a stove top, oven, and no cook sign. The students place the food pictures under the correct category.

Separating Laundry Task
Separating laundry is a great skill to learn. This task helps teach the students how to separate by colors. I made copies of three baskets and several cloths. I cut slits along the edge of the baskets so the students can place each article of clothing in the right baskets marked whites, darks, and brights.

Matching coupons is a life skill task that can be adaptable to various learning levels. I made 3 shopping lists with the names of products listed that will match up to the various coupons. The student can match the coupons up with each list and can even add up the amount of savings by using the coupons.

Hanging Cloths Task
Hanging cloths is a life skills task that helps with find motor skills. I found a wire rack and decided to put it to use by using it as the hanging rack for the cloths. I printed out several pictures of cloths and found the small craft size cloths pins to hang them with. The student takes the cloths out of the basket and hangs them on different sections of the rack.

Video Store Task
The video task is a great vocational task and wonderful conversation starter for those students who like movies. I made several visuals of popular family movies and put a piece of magnet strip on the back of each one. You can line them up on a cookie sheet or if you have a magnet board like I did than even better. The videos are placed on the board in no particular order and then students match up the videos to customer orders like the one shown. If you are working with a student on this task then get ready for movie conversations. Movies can be a great connection to open up conversations with students which is great!

Pizza Maker Task
Making pizza is a fun task that serves many purposes. This task helps the students follow directions, matching visuals, counting and fine motor skills. To make the task, find a good visual of a pizza with only the cheese on it. I made both medium size and small. I then found some individual images of toppings and copy/pasted them several times. Next I made visual direction cards showing how many of each topping goes on each pizza. The only hard part to this task is cutting out all of the individual ingredients but it is worth it when a student says, "Hey!...I can get a job at Pizza Hut making pizzas!" It's great to have students feel that kind of confidence.

Recipe/Product Match
Following recipes is a task everyone can benefit from. This task helps teach students how to match products to each recipe. I made several basic recipe cards and highlighted the products used to make the recipes. They match the visuals of the food items up with each recipe card and then their work is checked for accuracy.
